Daniel Clement Dennett (ur. 1942) – filozof amerykański.

Koncepcje i poglądy

Zajmuje się głównie filozofią umysłu i filozofią nauki. Jest szczególnie zainteresowany biologią ewolucyjną oraz kognitywistyką. Czołowy zwolennik teorii zwanej darwinizmem neuralnym (ang. neural darwinism).

Z wywiadu dla New York Times, 22 stycznia 2006:

Bez wątpienia, idea Boga, który odpowiada na modlitwy i z którym można rozmawiać, który interweniuje w świecie, jest ideą beznadziejną. Nie ma czegoś takiego.
