David Warren 'Dave' Ellefson (ur. 12 listopada 1964 w Jackson w stanie Minnesota) - basista thrash metalowego zespołu Megadeth[1]. Występował w nim od początku istnienia (1983) do 2002 roku, po czym drogi muzyków się rozeszły wskutek rozwiązania grupy. Po reaktywacji Megadeth, Ellefson już do grupy nie powrócił, podobnie jak reszta członków zespołu i Dave Mustaine musiał stworzyć nowy skład. David Ellefson wraz z Dave'em Mustainem decydowali głównie o losach zespołu. W międzyczasie współpracował z zespołem Soulfly - brał udział w powstawaniu płyt Prophecy (2004) oraz Dark Ages (2005). W lutym 2010 roku David powrócił do Megadeth, zastępując Jamesa LoMenzo[2].
