Wieloletnim partnerem brydżowym Huuba Bertensa był Ton Bakkeren. Huub Bertens od roku 2012 mieszka w USA i nie gra w lidze holenderskiej. Żona Huuba Bertensa, Jeanne van den Meiracker, jest działaczką WBF oraz EBL a także sędzią międzynarodowym.
