Marina Lambrini Diamandis[1], grec. Μαρίνα-Λαμπρινή Διαμάντη (ur. 10 października 1985 w Abergavenny), bardziej znana pod pseudonimem Marina and the Diamonds (czasami stylizowane jako Marina & the Diamonds) − walijska piosenkarka greckiego pochodzenia, kompozytorka i autorka tekstów[2][3].

Marina Diamandis zdobyła renomę 2. miejscem w corocznej gali Sound of..., czyli BBC Sound of 2010, plasując się na liście zwycięzców zaraz po Ellie Goulding. Po wydaniu prywatnej EP-ki Mermaid Vs. Sailor EP w 2007, Diamandis wydała drugą, The Crown Jewels EP, tym razem przez wytwórnię Neon Gold Records w 2009. Obecnie jest artystką wytwórni 679 Recordings, za której pomocą wydała swój debutancki pełny album, The Family Jewels, a następnie trzecią EP-kę, The American Jewels EP, oba wydawnictwa w 2010. W 2011 Marina Diamandis ogłosiła, że pracuje nad drugim pełnym albumem, podgrzewając atmosferą umieszczając wciąż nowe zdjęcia na swoim profilu na portalu tumblr.com oraz wydając dwa teledyski do utworów, które prawdopodobnie zostaną wydane na płycie - "Fear & Loathing" i "Radioactive". Electra Heart, została wydana 30 kwietnia 2012 roku w Wielkiej Brytanii, zaś pierwszy singiel "Primadonna" - 16 kwietnia. Cały koncept albumu opiera się o archetyp blond diwy, która gubi się we własnej sławie oraz jest zepsuta do szpiku kości, ale także o jej osobistą fascynację Stanami Zjednoczonymi i tym jak łatwo zostać tam gwiazdą nie będąc tak naprawdę nikim. Aby bardziej uwiarygodnić całą otoczkę, ścięła swoje długie czarne włosy (co można zobaczyć w teledysku do Fear & Loathing) i rozjaśniła włosy na bardzo jasny platynowy blond, oraz kompletnie zmieniła styl ubierania a nawet makijaż.

Jej pseudonim, "Marina and the Diamonds", składa się z jej pierwszego imienia, spójnika "i", oraz przekładu na angielski jej nazwiska, które oznacza po grecku "Diamenty". Pomimo tego, że "the Diamonds" jest czasami błędnie uważane za oznaczenie jej muzycznego wsparcia[4], tak naprawdę odnosi się do jej fanów. Wyjaśniła ten fakt na swojej stronie w serwisie Myspace następująco: "Jestem Marina. A wy jesteście diamentami"[5].

Jej styl muzyczny obejmuje nie tylko klawiszowo-akompaniowane ballady, ale także szybkie utwory pochodne od muzyki nowej fali z pełnym wsparciem muzycznym[3]. Według niej, duże znaczenie dla jej twórczości mają tacy muzycy jak Daniel Johnston, Blondie, The Distillers, Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, Britney Spears, Yann Tiersen, Elliott Smith, Dolly Parton czy Madonna[2][6].

Urodziła się w Abergavenny, w Walii. Jej ojciec jest Grekiem, matka Walijką. Rodzice poznali się na uniwersytecie w Newcastle i rozstali się kiedy jeszcze była dziewczynką. Marina Diamandis wychowała się u matki w walijskiej wiosce Pandy, koło Abergavenny. Obecnie jej matka mieszka w Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire a ojciec w Grecji. Marina uczęszczała do eksklusywnej prywatnej szkoły dla dziewcząt, Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls. W wieku 16-18 lat przebywała w Grecji, uczęszczając do ostatnich klas liceum. Karierę muzyczną rozpoczeła natychmiast potem w Londynie, gdzie nadal mieszka[7].
