Monodelf[15] (Monodelphis) – rodzaj ssaków z podrodziny dydelfów (Didelphinae) w obrębie rodziny dydelfowatych (Didelphidae).
Zasięg występowania[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Ameryce Południowej[16][17][18].
Morfologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Długość ciała (bez ogona) 6–18,3 cm, długość ogona 3,6–10,6 cm; masa ciała 7,5–150 g[16][19].
Systematyka[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj zdefiniował w 1829 roku brytyjski botanik Gilbert Thomas Burnett na łamach Quarterly Journal of Science, Literature and the Arts[1]. Burnett wymienił kilka gatunków nie wskazując gatunku typowego; w ramach późniejszego oznaczenia w 1916 roku niemiecki zoolog Paul Matschie na typ nomenklatoryczny wyznaczył monodelfa rdzawobocznego (M. brevicaudata)[20].
Etymologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
- Monodelphis: gr. μονος monos „pojedynczy”; δελφυς delphus „macica”[21].
- Peramys: gr. πηρα pēra „skórzana torba, sakwa”; μυς mus, μυός muos „mysz”[22]. Gatunek typowy: Monodelphis brachyura Burnett, 1830 (= Didelphys brachyuros Schreber, 1777, = Didelphis brevicaudata Erxleben, 1777).
- Hemiurus: gr. ἡμι- hēmi- „pół–”, od ἡμισυς hēmisus „połowa”; ουρα oura „ogon”[23]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphis hunteri Waterhouse, 1841 (= Didelphis brevicaudata Erxleben, 1777).
- Monodelphiops: rodzaj Monodelphis Burnett, 1829 (monodelf); ωψ ōps, ωπος ōpos „twarz”[24]. Gatunek typowy: Microdelphis sorex Hensel, 1873 (= Didelphys dimidiata Wagner, 1847).
- Minuania: „od minuanés, jednego z rdzennych ludów zamieszkujących Urugwaj”[7]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphys dimidiata Wagner, 1847.
- Mygalodelphys: gr. μυγαλη mugalē „ryjówka”; δελφυς delphus „macica”[25]. Gatunek typowy: Peramys adustus Thomas, 1897.
- Pyrodelphys: gr. πυρ pur, πυρος puros „ogień”; δελφυς delphus „macica”[26]. Gatunek typowy: Peramys emiliae Thomas, 1912.
