Reuben Van Ornum is seated in the middle, with his uncle, Zacheus, seated immediately to the left in this picture. The rest of the men are either indian fighters and friends of Zacheus, or members of the 3rd California Infantry Regiment that helped to "rescue" Reuben. (See w:Bear River Massacre for more information).
