Third – trzeci studyjny album grupy Portishead, którego premiera odbyła się 28 kwietnia 2008 roku. To pierwsze wydawnictwo Portishead od dziesięciu lat i pierwszy studyjny album po jedenastoletniej przerwie.

Informacja o zmiksowaniu i ukończeniu prac nad albumem oraz jego tytuł zostały ogłoszone na oficjalnej stronie grupy 2 października 2007. Podano wówczas przybliżoną datę premiery – początek kwietnia 2008 roku. Później datę wydania płyty przesunięto na 28 kwietnia.

Koncerty[edytuj | edytuj kod]

Portishead zagrali pierwszy od dziesięciu lat koncert na festiwalu All Tomorrow’s Parties w Minehead 8-9 kwietnia 2007[27] i przedstawili nowe kompozycje: „Hunter”, „Machine Gun”, „Wicca” (tytuł zmieniono na „Silence”) „Mystic” (zmieniono na „The Rip”) i "„Peaches” (na płycie jako „We Carry On”)[28].

21 stycznia 2008 podano informacje o europejskiej trasie koncertowej[29], a także o występie Portishead na Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 26 kwietnia 2008[30].

Pierwszym singlem promującym album był „Machine Gun”, którego premiera miała miejsce 18 marca 2008. Utwór został zaprezentowany w programie Zane'a Lowe'a w Radio 1 i udostępniony do ściągnięcia na oficjalnej stronie grupy. Jednostronny winylowy 12-calowy singiel w Wielkiej Brytanii wydany został 14 kwietnia 2008[33].
