Lanius – rodzaj ptaka z rodziny dzierzb (Laniidae).
Zasięg występowania[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Eurazji, Afryce, Ameryce Północnej i na Nowej Gwinei[5].

Długość ciała 17–31 cm; masa ciała 14,5–100 g[6].

- Lanius: łac. lanius „rzeźnik”, od laniare „rozerwać na kawałki”[7].
- Corvinella: zdrobnienie epitetu gatunkowego Lanius corvinus Shaw, 1809[8]. Gatunek typowy: Lanius corvinus Shaw, 1809.
- Urolestes: gr. ουρα oura „ogon”; λῃστης lēistēs „złodziej” (tj. dzierzba), od λῃστευω lēisteuō „kraść”[9]. Gatunek typowy: Lanius melanoleucus Jardine, 1831.
