Oposek[18] (Marmosa) – rodzaj ssaków z podrodziny dydelfów (Didelphinae) w obrębie rodziny dydelfowatych (Didelphidae).
Zasięg występowania[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące od Meksyku po środkową część Ameryki Południowej[19][20].
Morfologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Długość ciała 8,3–24 cm, długość ciała 10,1–29,4 cm; masa ciała 10–230 g[21][22].
Systematyka[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj zdefiniował w 1821 roku angielski zoolog John Edward Gray na łamach The London Medical Repository[1]. Jako gatunek typowy Gray wyznaczył oposka mysiego (M. murina).
Etymologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
- Didelphis: gr. δι- di- „podwójny”, od δυο duo „dwa”; δελφυς delphus „łono, macica”[23]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphis murina Linnaeus, 1758.
- Sarigua: fr. sarigue, od br. Sarigueya, çarigueia lub çarigueira „opos”[24]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphis murina Linnaeus, 1758.
- Marmosa: nazwa nadana oposkowi w Brazylii, zgodnie z Sebą, i zaadaptowana w języku francuskim w formie marmose przez Buffona[25].
- Asagis: gr. negatywny przedrostek α- a- „bez”; σαγις sagis „kieszonka, woreczek”[26]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphis murina Linnaeus, 1758.
- Notagogus: gr. νωταγωγες nōtagōges „nosić na plecach”[27]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphis murina Linnaeus, 1758.
- Micoureus (Micureus, Micoures, Micoures, Micoreus): nazwa Micouré oznaczająca w języku guarani oposa[28]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphis cinerea Temminck, 1824 (= Marmosa cinerea paraguayana Tate, 1931).
- Grymaeomys: gr. γρυμεα grumea „torba, worek”; μυς mus, μυός muos „mysz”[29]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphis murina Linnaeus, 1758.
- Cuica (Quica): rodzima, rdzenno amerykańska nazwa, pochodząca z połączenia coo „zwierzę” i yeîca lub îca „lepki, gumowaty”[30]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphis murina Linnaeus, 1758.
- Stegomarmosa: gr. στεγη stegē „dach” (por. στεγω stegō „pokryć”); rodzaj Marmosa J.E. Gray, 1821[11]. Gatunek typowy: Stegomarmosa andersoni Pine, 1972.
- Grayium: John Edward Gray (1800–1875), brytyjski zoolog[14]. Gatunek typowy: Didelphis murina Linnaeus, 1758.
- Eomarmosa: gr. εως eōs lub ηως ēōs „świt”; rodzaj Marmosa J.E. Gray, 1821[16]. Gatunek typowy: Marmosa rubra Tate, 1931; opisany jako podrodzaj Marmosa.
- Exulomarmosa: łac. exsul lub exul „wygnaniec”, od ex „poza”; solum „kraj, ląd”; rodzaj Marmosa J.E. Gray, 1821[31]. Gatunek typowy: Marmosa robinsoni Bangs, 1898; opisany jako podrodzaj Marmosa.
