Historia obiektu
Deutsch: Die Mauer im unteren Teil ist dem Wappen von Bautzen entnommen und weist auf die Zugehörigkeit der Oberlausitz hin. Über der Mauer erhebt sich eine stilisierte Darstellung der Lausche. Sie ist mit 793 m die höchste Erhebung im Zittauer Gebirge. Der Ortsteil Waltersdorf liegt unmittelbar am Fuße der Lausche. Die beiden sich kreuzenden Webschützen symbolisieren die Weberei als den für Großschönau bestimmenden Industriezweig.‎
English: The golden wall is the arms of the Oberlausitz region, to which the village belongs. The upper part shows the Lausche mountain (793 m), the highest point in the municipality and close to Waltersdorf. The two shuttles refer to the importance of the textile industry in the area.
