English: „The arms were granted on November 11, 1977. As the old arms could not be combined, new arms were devised. The center of the arms is the escarbuncle of Kleve as the area belonged to the duchy of Kleve. The large circle represents the new municipality, the smaller ones, the old municipalities. The wavy fess in the lower part represents the river Issel, that runs through the municipality. The green landscape is represented through the green colour.“
