Schoenicola – rodzaj ptaków z rodziny świerszczaków (Locustellidae).
Zasięg występowania[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Afryce Subsaharyjskiej i południowej Azji[6].
Morfologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Długość ciała 16–18 cm; masa ciała 14–20 g[7].

Etymologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
- Schoenicola (Schaenicola): łac. schoenus „sitowie, trzcina”, od gr. σχοινος skhoinos „trzcina, sitowie”; -cola – „mieszkaniec”, od colere „mieszkać”[8].
- Chaetornis: gr. χαιτη khaitē „długie włosy”; ορνις ornis, ορνιθος ornithos „ptak”[9]. Gatunek typowy: Megalurus? striatus Jerdon, 1841.
- Catriscus: zdrobnienie gr. κατρευς katreus „nieznany ptak” wspomniany przez Aelianusa, identyfikowany przez Cabanisa jako paw[10]. Gatunek typowy: Catriscus apicalis Cabanis, 1851 (= Bradypterus brevirostris Sundevall, 1850).

- Schoenicola striatus – pokrzewik smugowany – takson wyodrębniony z rodzaju Chaetornis[12]
- Schoenicola platyurus – pokrzewik szerokosterny
- Schoenicola brevirostris – pokrzewik wachlarzowaty
