Jean Cassou fr: ʒɑ̃ kasu (ur. 9 lipca 1897 w Deusto koło Bilbao (Hiszpania), zm. 15 stycznia 1986 w Paryżu) – francuski pisarz i krytyk, dyrektor Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Paryżu (1946-1965).
Jego ojciec był Francuzem, zmarł gdy chłopiec miał 16 lat. Matka Milagros Ibañez Pacheco, Hiszpanka, pochodziła z Andaluzji. W szkole uczył się języka francuskiego i hiszpańskiego. W 1926 roku za swoją pierwszą nowelę otrzymał nagrodę Ministra edukacji w swoim stanie.
Stworzył krytyczne szkice o literaturze i sztuce: El Greco (1931), Cervantes (1936), Picasso i Matisse (1939), Ingres (1947), Chagall (1966), powieści o Komunie Paryskiej – Paryż we krwi (1936, wyd. pol. 1948), poezje i eseje. Jest autorem zbioru szkiców o związkach między poezją romantyczną a współczesną: Pour la poésie (1935). W czasie drugiej wojny światowej uczestniczył we francuskim ruchu oporu. Z tego okresu pochodzi zbiór 33 sonetów: Sonnets Comosés au sécret (1944), ogłoszony pod pseudonimem Jean Noir.
