Carduelis – rodzaj ptaków z podrodziny łuskaczy (Carduelinae) w rodzinie łuszczakowatych (Fringillidae).

Występowanie[edytuj | edytuj kod]

Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Eurazji i północnej Afryce[4].

Morfologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]

Długość ciała 10,5–13,5 cm; masa ciała 9,5–30 g[5].

Etymologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]

Carduelis: łac. carduelis „szczygieł”, od carduus lub cardus „oset”[6].

Podział systematyczny[edytuj | edytuj kod]

Takson ten ostatnio przeszedł gruntowną rewizję taksonomiczną, wskutek czego szereg gatunków wyodrębniono do rodzajów Chloris, Linaria, Spinus i Acanthis[7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17]. Do rodzaju należą następujące gatunki[18]
