Skałomyszy (Petromyscinae) – monotypowa podrodzina ssaków z rodziny malgaszomyszowatych (Nesomyidae).
Zasięg występowania[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Podrodzina obejmuje gatunki występujące w północnej Afryce (Angola, Namibia i Południowa Afryka)[4][5][6].
Morfologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Długość ciała (bez ogona) 63–98 mm, długość ogona 76–122 mm, długość ucha 10–18 mm, długość tylnej stopy 13–21 mm; masa ciała 12–31 g[5][7].
Systematyka[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj zdefiniował w 1926 roku angielski zoolog Oldfield Thomas na łamach The Annals and Magazine of Natural History[2]. Na gatunek typowy Thomas wyznaczył (oryginalne oznaczenie) skałomysz karłowatą (P. collinus).
Etymologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Petromyscus: gr. πετρα petra ‘skała’[8]; μυσκος muskos ‘myszka’, zdrobnienie od μυς mus, μυος muos ‘mysz’[9].
Podział systematyczny[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Do podrodziny należy jeden rodzaj skałomysz[3] (Petromyscus) z następującymi gatunkami[10][7][4][3]:
- Petromyscus shortridgei O. Thomas, 1926 – skałomysz półpustynna
- Petromyscus monticularis O. Thomas & Hinton, 1925 – skałomysz skalista
- Petromyscus barbouri Shortridge & T.D. Carter, 1938 – skałomysz sukulentowa
- Petromyscus collinus O. Thomas & Hinton, 1925 – skałomysz karłowata
