Mesocyclops aspericornis |
Mesocyclops aspericornis[1],[2],[3],[4] – gatunek widłonogów z rodziny Cyclopidae[5],[6]. Nazwa naukowa tego gatunku skorupiaków została opublikowana w 1906 roku na podstawie prac rumuńskiego zoologa Eugena von Dadaya. Gatunek ten został ujęty w Katalogu Życia[7].
Występuje w zbiornikach słodkowodnych na Sumatrze, w Singapurze i na Hawajach[8]. Razem z gatunkiem komarów Toxorhynchites speciosus stanowi parę drapieżników skutecznie redukującą populację larw komara tygrysiego (Aedes notoscriptus) i Culex quinquefasciatus w otoczeniu Queensland[9]. Introdukowany do Tajlandii, gdzie w połączeniu z Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis skutecznie zredukował populację larw komara egipskiego (Aedes aegypti)[10].
