Angwantibo[2] (Arctocebus) – rodzaj ssaków naczelnych z podrodziny Perodicticinae w obrębie rodziny lorisowatych (Lorisidae).
Zasięg występowania[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w zachodniej i środkowej Afryce[3][4][5].
Morfologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Długość ciała 22–35 cm, ogona 1–2 cm; masa ciała 200–465 g[4][6].
Systematyka[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj zdefiniował w 1863 roku zoolog John Edward Gray na łamach Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London[1]. Na gatunek typowy Gray wyznaczył (oznaczenie monotypowe) angwantibo kalabarskiego (A. calabarensis).
Etymologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Arctocebus: gr. ἄρκτος arktos „niedźwiedź”; κηβος kēbos „długoogoniasta małpa”[7].
