Zasięg występowania
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące na Madagaskarze[5][6][7]. Lemuria manguścia została introdukowana na Komorach[5][6][7].

- Petterus: Jean-Jacques Petter (1927–2002), francuski prymatolog[3]. Gatunek typowy: Lemur fulvus É. Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, 1796.
