Metachirini – monotypowe plemię ssaków z podrodziny dydelfów (Didelphinae) w obrębie rodziny dydelfowatych (Didelphidae).

Występowanie[edytuj | edytuj kod]

Plemię obejmuje gatunki występujące w Ameryce od Meksyku do Argentyny^[6]^[7]^[8].

Morfologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]

Długość ciała (bez ogona) 24,5–28 mm, długość ogona 28–36,9 mm; masa ciała 284–480 g^[9]^[10].

Systematyka[edytuj | edytuj kod]

Rodzaj zdefiniował w 1854 roku niemiecko-argentyński przyrodnik Hermann Burmeister w publikacji swojego autorstwa Systematische Uebersicht der Thiere Brasiliens^[4]. Burmeister wymienił kilka gatunków, nie wskazując gatunku typowego; w ramach późniejszego oznaczenia w 1888 roku angielski zoolog Oldfield Thomas na typ nomenklatoryczny wyznaczył Metachirus myosuros^[11].

Etymologia[edytuj | edytuj kod]

Metachirus (Metacherius): gr. μετα meta „za”; χειρ kheir, χειρος kheiros „dłoń”^[12].

Do plemienia należy jeden rodzaj z trzema gatunkami^[13]^[6]:
