Marcel Dupré
Marcel-Jean-Jules Dupré (ur. 3 maja 1886, zm. 30 maja 1971) – francuski organista, pianista, kompozytor i pedagog.

Biografia[edytuj]
Urodził się w Rouen we Francji w rodzinie muzycznej. Jego ojciec Albert Dupré był organistą w Rouen i przyjacielem organmistrza Aristide Cavaillé-Colla, który wybudował organy w ich domu rodzinnym, gdy Marcel miał 14 lat. Wstąpił do Konserwatorium Paryskiego w 1904, gdzie uczyli go Louis Diémer i Lazare Lévy (fortepian), Alexandre Guilmant i Louis Vierne (organy), oraz Charles-Marie Widor (kompozycja). W 1914 zwyciężył w Grand Prix de Rome swoją kantatą Psyche. W 1926 powołano go na profesora organów i improwizacji w Konserwatorium Paryskim, gdzie uczył do 1954.
W 1934 zastąpił Widora na stanowisku organisty tytularnego w kościele św. Sulpicjusza w Paryżu. Pozostał na tym stanowisku do końca życia. Zmarł w 1971 w Meudon.
Jego uczniami byli między innymi Jehan Alain, Marie-Claire Alain, Pierre Cochereau, Jeanne Demessieux, Rolande Falcinelli, Jean Guillou, Jean Langlais i Olivier Messiaen, a z Polaków - Jan Kucharski i Jan Janca.
