National Basketball Association Development League lepiej znana jako D-League, jest oficjalnie popieraną i kierowaną przez NBA organizacją mającą na celu rozwój koszykówki. Składa się obecnie z ośmiu zespołów w południowo-wschodnich Stanach Zjednoczonych. W marcu 2005, komisarz NBA David Stern ogłosił plan rozszerzenia D-League do piętnastu zespołów.

Liga rozpoczęła działalność w sezonie 2001/2002 jako National Basketball Development League. Nazwa ligi zmieniła się latem 2005. Gra w niej wielu zawodników przed draftem do NBA lub ci, z których na razie zrezygnowano. W NBDL grali Marcin Gortat, Rafer Alston, Chris Andersen, Devin Brown i Bobby Simmons, teraz są zawodnikami klubów NBA.
