Liphistiidae – rodzina pająków należąca do podrzędu Mesothelae. Obejmuje 8 rodzajów i 91 opisanych gatunków[2] z południowo-wschodniej Azji[3]. Liphistiidae są jedynymi współczesnymi przedstawicielami najbardziej pierwotnej linii ewolucyjnej pająków – Mesothelae, jednak klad ten powstał względnie niedawno – w paleogenie, pomiędzy 39 a 58 mln lat temu na terenie Azji. Poszczególne rodzaje Liphistiidae wyewoluowały z kolei pod koniec paleogenu lub w neogenie, pomiędzy 4 a 24 mln lat temu[4].
